BINTAN ISLAND, Indonesia – 22nd January 2023. Chinese New Year for the year 2023 is celebrated on Sunday, January 22. This year the animal sign is the Rabbit. Chinese New Year is the first day of the New Year in the Chinese lunisolar calendar (Chinese traditional calendar). It is also known as the Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival.

To welcome The Year Of The Rabbit, a The Grand Lagoi Hotel Bintan is hosting a Prosperous Re-union Dinner at Grand Café on Saturday, 21 January 2023 from 19.00 pm onwards to welcome the Year of the Rabbit. At the peak of the event, a special Yu Sheng toss is held. Yu Sheng is traditionally served during the Chinese New Year season to be tossed and mixed together to represent abundance, prosperity, and vigor.

The following day on New Year Day of Chinese New Year, Lion and dragon Dance Show  raised the Chinese New Year spirit. The General Manager of Grand Lagoi Hotel, Mr. Sumantri Endang together with all in-house guests witnessed and enjoying the festive. Lion and Dragon dance performances are some of the highlights of Chinese New Year 2023. Both rooted in ancient Chinese tradition, they are performed at traditional, cultural festivals to bring luck to the community.
